December Photo Hunt

1. Holiday Lights
I know it's not picture perfect, but this our tree.  And the funny is, it kind of represents me this month.  I'm usually FULL of Christmas cheer, but some days I felt like half of my lights were out too...I think it was a combination of my maternity leave being over and having to work EVERY night through the Christmas holiday weekend. :(  Next year is going to be better.  New Year.  New Lights. New Me!

2. Holiday Spirit
One of the only things that got me in the Holiday Spirit this year: Our 3 year old's First Sunday School Christmas Program.  Our Church is always decorated just simple enough to be perfect...and the Very First Christmas Story is told through the mouths of babes. :)
3. A Holiday Treat
I'm dubbing this dessert: Peppermint Dream.  My SIL made this up from a different recipe she found.  Think Peppermint Ice Cream Heaven.  Nuff said.

4. An Ornament
Cashton's 1st Ornament...by the end of Christmas I think he's got 5 already...
but this one was the FIRST!

5. A Gift-Wrapped Package

6. A Window Display
Our nephew said he didn't want to go outside and play with us...but it sure looked like he wanted too!

7. A Winter/Holiday Icon
photo taken by my hubby and edited by me
Frosty the Snowman
8. A Tree
This was my sister's BIG idea.  Our dad shares his brithday with Jesus, so we always have a birthday cake for him at our Christmas celebration...this year she made a "Family Tree"  Get it?!?!  Yeah, she was pretty proud.

9. A Tradition
I actually did buy the kit to make Cashton's stocking...but I just didn't have the time to finish it for this Christmas..

10.Something that says Noel
"The-a First No-o-el..."
That's all I got. Hunt Fail.
11. Something Precious
yet another excerpt from the "Sibling PJ Shoot"...

12. Something Peaceful
What's more peaceful than a sleeping baby? in a shirt sent with lots of love from CA to WI!

13. Something Hot

14. Something Cold
from our first snowfall of the season...

15. Something Red
photo taken by my SIL while the rest of us were either wrestle the children back onto the couch...or make riculous noises and faces behind the camera (next time I MUST snap a shot of the adults doing this)
These are the grandchildren on my husbands' side of the fam.

16. Something Green
My brother and SIL's GI-NORMOUS Tree
17. Motion Blur
Our niece getting pulled in the sled
18. Black & White Photo

19. Infrared Photography Technique

Christmas Scavenging

1. FAMILY
I'd love to tell you that this little mini-me outfit was planned...because that is so something I would do, but it came about very innocently as Cashton got his outfit as a gift from his godmother/aunt and my husband already had his.

2.MOTION BLUR
this is an outtake from a little photo shoot I did with my munchkins...it just CRACKS.ME.UP.  Sam looks like she's CRAZY! (which she most definitely is) and Cash has already got "that look" on his face like "I don't know her" HAHA!  It's so hard shooting in manual mode, indoors, low-light with little pip-squeaks.

3.PRETTY PACKAGES
Christmas Morning under our tree.

4.GLOW
Apart from what a may look like at our Christmas village ICU (the plastic bucket I have to keep all the tiny figures that she has massacred), Samantha LOVES our tiny little town.

5.SPARKLE
EVERYONE is doing it...but I am special because our Christmas Tree fell to the HARDWOOD floor TWICE last year, so we don't have any of these beautiful glass ball ornaments at our house anymore...I had to borrow my brother and SIL's tree for this one!

Frosty the Snowman

There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found...
for when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around!
and so did these girls!

Scavenger Hunting Again

1. WINTER
Samantha and some of her cousins sledding

2. BLACK & WHITE with Selective Coloring
I just love this little man...getting pumped for his First Christmas

3. WIND
This was what we got to drive home through last weekend..."Blizzard Aiden"

4. FRAMED
I'm pretty sure I want to FRAME this shot I caught of Sam before her Christmas Program...

5. REMEMBER WHEN
I'm currently going through my grandmother's recipes she left behind...making them and photographing them for a recipe/memory book for our family.
The classic Peanut Butter Blossoms I made for Christmas.

All Bundled Up

I just love how the kids (here's my Samantha) look like puffy marshmallows, all bundled up, to play in the snow!

Scavenger Huntin'

IN MY HOME
One of my favorite features of our house: The Staircase.  Not only because I love the woodwork, but we showcase our family on the wall leading upstairs.

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE...
I was hoping to snap a picture of us cutting down our tree here, but I kinda messed up today.  We didn't get to have our traditional tree-cutting this year :( So I'll have to live vicariously through my village family doing it!

SWEET TREAT
A new tradition with my in-laws: Our first annual Cookie Exchange! YUM!

TIME
as if time wasn't a blur already having a 3yo and a newborn...this week I went back to the grindstone working 3rd shift. Ugh.

EVERYDAY
Our prominently placed Nativity.  To remind us EVERYDAY of the Real Reason for the Season!

Go check out everyone else, pretty please :)
